THE WEEKEND: Feb 4-5, 2012
SATURDAY: The Moon slips into home sign Cancer early Saturday morning and squares jumpy Uranus at 3:43 am. Luna then sextiles friendly Jupiter at 5:53 am and green lights come on for work or play on Saturday. Pause a moment as the Moon opposes demanding Pluto at 4:06 pm and you’ll enjoy the quiet skies that follow through the rest of the afternoon and all of Saturday night.
The big event in the Skywatch now is Neptune entering home sign of Pisces. This last happened in 1846–61. Neptune is the mystical planet that rules the ocean, our psychic and spiritual awareness, music, movies, dancing and all the fine arts. Neptune will inspire artists all over the Earth to create their masterpieces over the next 14 years. Children born with this placement will have extraordinary sensitivities in several areas. Neptune and Pisces also rule oil, drugs, booze, and the desire to escape reality—you’ll be tempted in some area of your life in the years ahead. Meanwhile, dreams and visions can be extremely important as Neptune opens the door to our subconscious—pay attention.
SUNDAY: Sunday’s Skywatch is easy going. The Moon makes just one stop, a friendly sextile to Retrograde Mars at 5 pm. Often people and matters of the past return during Rx cycles and this might be the case for some folks on Sunday. Usually they bring good news. As times change.

Caution lights.
The Moon squares Retrograde Mars at 9:24 am Friday morning and tempers can flare with angry words—the Moon is still in talkative Gemini.
Save the important calls for the hours that follow as the Skywatch quickly clears and green lights come on.
A minor Moon Venus square at 2:03 pm suggests a moment to compromise.
Evening hours are excellent for work or play as the Moon trines realistic Saturn and Neptune by midnight.
Yes, this is a good night to spill the beans and talk about your ideas and wishes.
I started a new business last April but was not able to focus in it completely because of my daughter’s illness. I am now focusingon the new business, will Mars retrograde interfer??
— Alyse Kyriay Feb 2, 10:08 PM #dunno….that’s just one planet…
however, since this is not a totally new situation, I would think you’ll make progress. certainly a review of your plans and actions will help you move forward with Mars Rx…

Thursday, February 2
Mars Retrograde began on Jan 23 and will continue until April 13. That means Mars appears to be backing up in the heavens, when actually the Earth speeds by and sails past Mars giving the appearance that Mars is driving in reverse or Rx.
Any planet in Rx loses clarity and focus. Mars rules our muscles and the energy to initiate new plans and ideas. You’ll have less of both in the weeks ahead as Mars retreats in Virgo, the sign we associate with matters that surround your health and job. Best to rest up and hold off on starting new enterprises during Mars Rx. This 80+ day cycle appears in the Skywatch every other year.
That said, the rest of Thursday’s astrological weather is excellent for priority calls and business as the Moon trines clever Mercury at 8:41 am.
Even better, the Sun and Moon form a harmonious trine at 4 pm and peace reigns in the heavens for the rest of the day and night.
My boyfriend’s Mars is in Virgo. Will this mean anything for him in particular? Will he be particularly suceptible to any Mars-in-Virgo retrograde action? Just curious! Thanks…
— Carissa Feb 2, 12:19 PM #my Mars is in Virgo,too.
What matters is how Mars reacts to his other planets…which is reading his chart.
Some folks will have good stuff connected to their Mars in Virgo…some will not…
Mars will back up to 3 Vir 41 and stop. The question is does that point make any squares to his natal planets on the way back?
Planets in Gemini and Sag will get squares from Virgo. Planets in Pisces will be in opposition.
You have to see the whole chart to figure out the effects of the Skywatch.
— Lance Ferguson Feb 2, 12:40 PM #Hmm, so starting my new yoga routine might not work? Oh bother.
— Gabi Feb 2, 02:51 PM #yes, your yoga routine will work…if, if
you really want to do it…that’s the question…heh?

Tackle the hard jobs first thing while the Skywatch is clear.
A touch of confusion appears in the heavens when the Moon squares dreamy Neptune at 1:06 pm and then turns Void of Course until she enters Gemini 10 minutes later.
The main event on Wednesday fol¬lows as Venus lines up opposite Retrograde Mars in the heavens, exact at 5:41 pm . This aspect is touchy. Relationship make-ups and break-ups are more likely today, and passive aggressive behavior.
Oppositions can bring a time of balance between two forces, or incites their struggle to dominate the other. A clearing trend begins as Venus and Mars leave the dance floor—evening hours are good for work or play.
oh man, retro mars is on my uranus and i’m being observed at my job (it was just told to me today—unexpected!) on wed.
no bad news pleease :(
— andrea Jan 30, 10:31 PM #I hope all this works towards getting my car repaired tomorrow, so I can head back to the U.S. I want it to get done before Friday, when Neptune dives in the lake with Pieces. The last thing I need is a spacey mechanic.

Tuesday, January 31.
The coast is clear. Pay attention to your gut instincts today.
The Moon is now in her favorite sign, Taurus, helping us feel and understand our emotions and personal reactions to life with more clarity than usual. Taurus is the money sign, so this is a good day for stocking up on supplies and for all financial decisions.
A pair of kisses light up the heavens Tuesday night as the Moon sextiles sweet Venus at 8:08PM and then trines Retrograde Mars at 10:28PM.
People and matters of the past often return during Rx cycles and this will be the night for some folks.
As times change.
Today is my birthday. Are you going to post the birthday banner for this week?
Thanks,
sue
— sue Jan 31, 10:37 AM #yes, we will…up top…Leslie

Monday, January 30.
The early bird gets the worm. Because the Moon enters Taurus in the wee hours and then meets lucky Jupiter in the heavens at 5:29AM Monday morning.
Good vibes are always in the air when Jupiter is on stage. Double- check the details as Luna travels on to square motor-mouth Mercury at 10:15AM.
The best hours of the day follow for priority calls and business. A power moment appears Monday afternoon when the Moon trines powerful Pluto at 5:25PM.
Energy levels drop in the evening hours as the Sun and Moon form a challenging square at 10:10PM. Let voice mail handle your calls tonight.

Had to gulp reading this — 1846-61 was one of the worst periods in this country’s history — war with Mexico, massacres and reprisals, and finally a break in the Union. I sincerely hope this go-round will be less tragic. It was a good time for inventions, though. And is it coincidence that Neptune was discovered at this time?
— Laura Feb 4, 02:37 AM #Yes, and the tragic Donner Pass was in 1946 too.
— Laurie Feb 4, 01:33 PM #You are noting that 1846-1861 was a period of time when many deeply important social issues came to a head, albeit violently, and the tolerance that allowed them to exist unaddressed and unabated came to an end. There are many issues today that need similar treatment. Occupy Wall Street points to that fact that many people are refusing to accept a “quiet oppression” that chokes off jobs, lives and hopes for the future.
— Bailey Feb 4, 05:30 PM #I’m thinking Donner Pass was not 1946
