SKYWATCH MEMBERS - MARCH IS NOW AVAILABLE

There was a changing of the guard in the Skywatch and our lives in 2007 as Saturn left fire sign Leo and entered Virgo last September. Plus, Jupiter left fire sign Sagittarius and entered Capricorn in December. And now in January 2008, Pluto will
also leave Sagittarius and enter Capricorn. Three heavy planets leaving fire signs and entering earth signs within a few months of each other is a rare sequence of events and signals a major shift of energy/times in the Skywatch and in our lives.

Fire signs are optimistic and encourage inflation and expansion—once a fire gets started you may not be able to put
it out. Until the adjustable mortgage resets and the optimism and idealism of all these fire signs turns into “Show me the money”. That’s the mantra of the practical earth signs, and especially Capricorn, the sign of contraction.

Throw dirt on a fire when the fuel is gone and you put it out. Just having both Jupiter and Saturn in earth signs at once is a very strong conservative influence, but beneficial to those who are prepared for expansion and new responsibilities. It’s trouble for
those who are not ready or irresponsible—as the economy contracts with a reduction of credit and opportunity. Add Pluto in Capricorn to this earthy pair and the trend seems even more significant and compelling in 2008.

Pluto was last in Capricorn around 1765-85. Capricorn rules the authorities, big business and systems/structures of all kinds, including governments. Revolutions headlined history books in those days. And we know that the USA was born in 1776 and has a birth chart with Pluto in 28 Capricorn, as our nation was born in this powerful cycle of time. But Pluto was unknown then, not discovered until 1930, right as nuclear power was being created. That is the power astrologers attach to Pluto, regardless of what the astronomers say or how they classify him.

So, we really don’t know what to expect as this new cycle opens because this is the first time we have seen Pluto in Capricorn with his full powers—and in a world that has changed dramatically since his last visit. For certain, there will be extraordinary stresses on governments, big business and authority figures—many will fail in the years ahead as Pluto weeds out the weak and inefficient forces. Nuclear energy is going to be a big issue up ahead.

Plus, Capricorn rules the mountains and I expect increased seismic activity worldwide, especially since we have been pumping oil, gas and water out of the ground for 250 years —and altered the balance of Earth’s internal forces. Perhaps that’s a far-fetched idea, but no one knows what is possible or likely in this new Pluto cycle.

Pluto will enter Capricorn on Jan 25, 2008, and stop on 1 Capricorn on April 1. Then he will Retrograde and travel
back into Sag for his last hurrah in this fire sign from June 13 to Nov 26. This is the time to settle old problems and to get your finances in the best shape possible before Pluto re-enters Capricorn in late Nov and stays for some 15 years. I’ll post
more articles on these changing times as the months go by.
