A letter from Lance

22 March 08

I saw an ugly red blotch on the radar screen on the TV sitting exactly on our part of the south Texas coast just as a wall of water poured off the roof and began to pond in our backyard. At the same moment, Leslie was in her van, crossing the bridge over the bay and coming home. Prayers work and thankfully she pulled into the garage safe, but rattled. This is small potatoes to the economy, oil prices and drugs in the water – the storms that appeared in the news on the same day…

I’ve been reading all the astrological forecasters on the web and checked out the current cycles back through history looking for clues on what’s ahead when Jupiter and Pluto are in Capricorn and Saturn is in Virgo. All three signs are extremely conservative and point to a continued period of economic contraction through all of 2008. Reading about events of the past during these cycles, I would anticipate the market retreating. Fortunes will be made in 2008, too, as the market changes so radically and opportunities for growth appear overnight. It’s a strange brew: The combination of planetary energies in the heavens is positive this year – more kisses than quacks. But the cycles the planets are in are NOT – and it’s a contradiction. And there is a joker: Saturn opposite Uranus on Election Day. Sounds like a changing of the guard.

Best then to get realistic, conservative and grateful for small gains in the months ahead. The market is going to change dramatically in reaction to stress and never-seen-before conditions. Many industries will see a decline but still survive and prosper. Pluto will cause the breakdown of systems as he travels through Capricorn – this is where the greatest losses and opportunities will appear. Like drugs in the water. I bet I could have filled a 5,000 gallon cistern, if I had one, from run-off in the thunderstorm yesterday. All of a sudden, that’s the only way to guarantee you have pure water to drink in some states. Capricorn rules old technologies, old ways that are likely to become critical to survival for many, and a gold mine to others. As times change.

  1. Thanks for the heads up. Those hints help us circumnavigate the tides much better. I feel like I'm actually learning something deep down and profound through all these troubles.
    Thanks again, Lance.

  2. ....Hummm “old technologies, old ways….” there is a whole generation living today that have lost so much of the once highly esteemed cultural knowlege/wisdom or the folk knowlege/wisdom that supported humans for thousands of years. Sad. But I see a glorious rainbow illumination on the horizon from people who have perserved and nurtured this folk wisdom. Most of us that are children of the 50s and earlier times remember some of that knowlege. Leaving wasteful lifestyles and practices behind, being kind to Mother Earth, lovingly planting and nurturing a garden, and a myriad of other things can help. Maybe this tempestuous time is really the end of The Age of Pisces & The Dawing of the Age of the Water Bearer.
