31 May 09Mars will square both Jupiter and Neptune on the 6th. Big-time trouble can come of these squares and they will be an influence over the entire July 4th weekend. Mars is an impatient chap and as we watch him move through the signs and in and out of trines and squares, we note that his energy builds days before the exact planetary alignment. Thus, while his two squares are exact on the 6th, they are very much in play on July 4 and 5. Mars rules machines, guns, explosions, anger and your head. He is impatient, foolhardy and reacts to things like a teenager. Neptune also rules alcohol, drugs, the ocean, diseases and infections and water-related activities. Jupiter, unfortunately, amps up the outcome of the energy around him—little problems can become big ones quickly when he’s around.
Scale back your plans for the July 4th weekend and follow all safety rules closely.Pay extra attention to the kids and critters as accidents are more likely, especially around water. This is not a good weekend to attempt anything that is first-time and dangerous.
Green lights. Mars breaks off the squares and moves into a healing sextile with friendly Uranus on the 7th and times change as the Skywatch improves considerably. Yes, we’ll have some whopper dreams as Jupiter and Neptune conjunct, but without the sword of Achilles (Mars) in our face. July is a good time to be journaling and listening to your inner voices—one of Neptune’s gifts is to be able to read between the lines and to know without understanding. A clearing trend continues as the days roll on—best to handle finances and important purchases in the second half of the month.
Solar and Lunar Eclipse: We have both in July. Typically there are two sets of two eclipses each year. So they are somewhat rare and considered special in that events that occur in the days surrounding one are more empowered than the events that transpire at other “ordinary” New or Full Moons. For us, they mark powerful times to plant seeds and initiate new plans on the Solar Eclipse/New Moon on July 21. And an equally powerful time at the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse on July 7 to make decisions, harvest crops and to end situations or relationships that are no longer of value. There are differing opinions about how long and when the power of the eclipses peaks. For certain the energy of each lunation extends into the week following the exact alignment and gives us plenty of time to take advantage of these powerful events in the Skywatch.
